Exploring Transition: Missionaries and the Re-entry Process.

This is a psycho-educational workshop. The objective is to provide participants with a space where they can explore their experience of transition and draw on the collective wisdom of the group for guidance in negotiating transition. Our work together will focus on two related themes: loss and transition. We will also address issues related to these such as identity, resilience and forgiveness. It is my intention to draw on spirituality, developmental psychology, poetry, music and film to shed light on the subject.

Day One

Session 1 (morning): The Transition Process

Session 2 (afternoon):  Identity and Calling during Transition.

Day Two

Forgiveness and Transition. Resilience during Transition.

Presenter

Dr. Kevin Egan has lectured in psychology and pastoral theology at All Hallows College, Dublin for many years. Presently he lives in Boyle Co. Roscommon and has a private practice as a psychotherapist and supervisor. He is a frequent contributor to The Furrow and has given workshops on Transition to several groups of missionaries.

Numbers are limited for this workshop but we do need a quota of 15 participants. Registration is due no later than 5.00pm on Monday 18th September. For more information and to book, please contact Jim Farrell at jim.farrell@amri.ie, or on 01 53 100 55.
