Statement from AMRI on the death of Emeritus Pope Benedict XVI

‘AMRI and its membership wish to add their condolences on the death of Emeritus Pope Benedict XVI on Saturday December 31. We invite all our members to remember in prayer Pope Benedict XVI, and those who cared for him since his retirement. We also remember his family and close colleagues in their time of mourning. May he rest in peace.’

 

The Holy See Press Office announced that the Pope Emeritus died at 9:34 AM on Saturday morning (Decemeber 31) in his residence at the Mater Ecclesiae Monastery, which the 95-year-old Pope emeritus had chosen as his residence after resigning from the Petrine ministry in 2013.
