Dear Friends,
We are so grateful for the 65 individual connections to our recent Webinar, “All I Want for Christmas is HOPE!”. We know too that there were many groups attending and watching in. We hope to catch many more in the recording that we are sharing in this email.Included in this email are links to the presentations and to the organisations mentioned during the webinar.

Your call to action is to share this email, to call on those elected to ensure a greater allocation in Ireland’s Overseas Development Aid given the recent Apple Tax windfall that we all know is the tax accruing from the work done by others in different countries. As those elected prepare a ‘plan for government’ you might contact your TD and insist that an increase in Overseas Development Aid must be part of the plan for any new government.

We are aware that this year’s COP29 meeting fell too short in terms of meeting the funding necessary for climate mitigation and adaptation in African countries. The wealthiest countries are yet to step up to their climate responsibilites to ensure that those affected first, most and worst are indeed financially equipped to cope. We can play our part by considering the concept of Doughnut Economics in our daily shopping but especially at Christmas Time.
